The first time I burnt out I was just 17 years old…
I was graduating top of my school, playing competitive sport, singing at school musical events and sitting in on student council meetings (yes I was that girl...)
Fast forward to my 5th year of university science, I was about to graduate as a veterinary surgeon and spend the next 5 years grinding away, living on instant coffee and bad food, taking home all of the pressure and stress of the day (as well as the after hours phone), and feeling frustratingly dissatisfied and completely disconnected from my self.
Add to that the mental exhaustion, constant back ache, chronic gut problems and regular colds... I was just done.
I quit my profession. I qualified as a yoga teacher, a personal trainer and a nutritionist and then opened a gym with my husband Andy and started my online women's coaching business The Green Body Plan.
Since having my son Eoin 18 months ago, my life is still jam packed and nowhere near short of 'to-do's... but I've learnt a thing or two about maintaining good health, managing stress and still achieving success over the past 10 years.
